Construction Defect Repair

Not all buildings are created equal. Some are flawed from the start, while others develop problems over time due to weather, water damage, or other natural or man-made problems. In such cases, we assess the damage and take the necessary steps to make sure the property regains its integrity.

Construction defects generally fall into two main categories: defects in design, workmanship or materials, and landslide or earth settlement problems. Many are caused by water; the old practice of reverse-wrapping the building envelope during the construction process often left gaps where water could get through and damage the building. Dry rot and leaking windows, if not reversed, can eventually lead to structural failure and collapse.

To address the problem, we tear out the old system and create a new one. After dismantling the exterior, we repair the existing water damage and install a new system which complies with current International Building Code (I.B.C.) standards. Using the old exterior as a model, we match the new one to it. The end result is a fully integrated look.
